Reproduction is not a loss, but another possibility to be more.
As Tu Xing Studio approaches its 11th year, we are proud to present the launch of our new ceramic series: “Be More.”
This series is inspired by one of our favorite animated shows, Adventure Time, and in particular the story of a beloved character, BMO.
In the show, BMO accidentally deletes a crucial system file and begins to malfunction, as if falling ill. The protagonists take BMO back to the factory where it was made, hoping to find a way to repair it. Along the way, BMO encounters many other robots—identical in form, born from the same assembly line.
But through this journey of tracing its origins, BMO comes to a realization: it is itself.
Even among countless lookalikes, BMO discovers that its existence began with a singular dream. Though its original function was programmed by its creator, BMO ultimately forged its own path—and found its unique identity beyond the factory floor.
This idea resonates deeply with us.
Reproduction is not a loss—it’s the beginning of becoming more.
In the history of functional ceramics, reproduction has always been closely tied to daily life. Through repeated forms, people grow attached to habits and objects, and those objects in turn gather meaning.
With the “Be More” series, Tu Xing Studio seeks to preserve the traces and stories before replication—
so that within similarity, we may still find difference, memory, and the potential to become more.
